Melvin Dale Koroluk had his third appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on Monday, where he was given a trial date of January 31 for one of his three charges.

Koroluk faces charges for assault, kidnapping, and unsafe storage of firearms. The first two of these relate to an incident this July in which Koroluk allegedly lured an 11-year-old girl into his vehicle at the Yorkton Exhibition. The firearms charge stems from a police search of his home after the victim of the alleged kidnapping identified Koroluk as her abductor.

On January 31, 2012, Koroluk will attend a preliminary hearing on the assault and kidnapping charges and face a trial by judge alone for the firearms charge.
