Valid donations are always needed

The Yorkton Salvation Army greatly appreciates the donations that are made to our Thrift Store on Betts Ave. We are however experiencing considerable hardships due to the type of product being dropped off.

The Yorkton Salvation Army greatly appreciates the donations that are made to our Thrift Store on Betts Ave. We are however experiencing considerable hardships due to the type of product being dropped off.

We are receiving large amounts of broken and dirty items which are useless to us. We have to throw it in our garbage container. This is emptied two or three times a week at considerable cost to our ministry. We need the help of our valid donors to consider two issues for us.

Would you buy the item that you are dropping off at our Thrift Store, if you were looking for it?If the answer is no, then no one will, so please throw it out at your residence.

Dropping items off after hours means there is no one there to receive it, and everything is vandalized, stolen or destroyed, failing that the weather will ruin the donations.

Our Thrift Store is currently closed on Mondays. This will be changing in the near future. We will be open six days a week.

Please remember when you give to the Thrift Store your valid donations, you are re-investing in your community. Because we are a non-profit organization, which means all the money that we raise over and above our operational costs is put back into the community via our Food Bank and Community and Family Service Programs.

Our thanks to all the people of Yorkton who contribute to our organization, the Salvation Army.

Our motto is a heart for God and a hand to man. Thank you all for your anticipated co-operation as we move into the fall season.

God bless you all.

Envoys, Roy and Rose Bladen
