Woman critically injured in crash

A 27-year-old woman remains in critical condition following a September 7 collision on Hwy 52 approximately one kilometre west of Yorkton.

The driver of this Chevrolet Cobalt remains in critical condition in hospital in Regina after a collision with a semi-trailer September 7.


A 27-year-old woman remains in critical condition following a September 7 collision on Hwy 52 approximately one kilometre west of Yorkton.

The woman was travelling east in a two-door Chevrolet Cobalt when she crossed the centre line and collided head on with a semi-trailer.

EMS transported the woman to Yorkton Regional Health Centre where she was evacuated to Regina by STARS Air Ambulance.

Cpl. Tim Schwartz of the Yorkton rural RCMP detachment said there was no alcohol involved in the collision. He said they have no idea at this point what may have distracted the driver, but investigators including an RCMP traffic analyst continue to investigate.

Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time. The driver of the truck was not injured, but he truck sustained significant damage.
