YCC welcomes 2018 Board of Directors

The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce (YCC) kicked off its new year with a breakfast event at St. Gerard’s Hall on Jan. 11. On an ice-cold morning, the YCC inducted its 2018 Board of Directors. 16 people were sworn into the board.

Mayor Bob Maloney was on hand to highlight the responisibilities of the Board of Directors and their importance in the community. The inductees were then sworn in.
Ajay Tadi, Bob Knox, Brent Murdock, Carol Yaholnitsky, Christopher Kosteroski, Corey Werner, Joseph Ortynsky, Mike Popowich, Mike Stackhouse, Neil Weber, Sarah Kowalchuk, and Sunil Shah were at the event to be sworn in.
Fellow inductees Christopher Bogdan, Donna Brothwell, Dustin Brears, and Habitat Kasim were not at the breakfast.
Corey Werner, who has served on the board for 15 years, is excited for 2018.
“It’s always a great opportunity to be involved with the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce,” he said. “I really enjoy my time [with it].
“[In 2018 we’ll] try and encourage more business owners to get involved [and] come out to some of [our] events.”
The YCC will select a new president on Jan. 17.
