As War Amps 2011 key tags go out across Saskatchewan, local residents may spot a familiar face on their TV screens.

Jake Kahoot, 6, of Yorkton, appears in a War Amps public service announcement airing across Canada during the key tag mailing. A right foot amputee, he is a member of The War Amps Child Amputee (CHAMP) Program and, as such, is eligible to receive financial assistance with artificial limbs, counselling and attend regional CHAMP seminars.

The PSA, which was funded by corporate donations, features Champs showing the artificial limbs and devices they use, and how they are provided through public support of the Key Tag Service.

Jake is shown in the PSA with another champ, comparing their artificial legs. It can be viewed on The War Amps Website at waramps.ca or on its youtube channel at youtube.com/warampsofcanada.

Key tags aren't just for car keys! Since 1946, The War Amps has returned more than one million sets of keys, and the service is more vital than ever with the extremely high replacement cost of keys and remote devices. The key tag is attached to any set of keys and, should the keys be lost, the finder need only call the toll-free number on the back of the tag and the keys will be returned to the owner by bonded courier.

The War Amps does not receive government grants. For more information, or to order key tags, call toll-free 1 800 250-3030 or visit waramps.ca.
