A 42-year-old man and his 16-year-old son from Yorkton are dead following a collision with a pickup truck last night near Morden, Manitoba.

A 42-year-old man and his 16-year-old son from Yorkton are dead following a collision with a pickup truck last night near Morden, Manitoba.

RCMP said the car which was being driven by the teenager had slowed down on Highway 14 to turn into a gas station when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old Morden woman.

The man and his son were both pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the pickup and 67-year-old grandfather of the youth were transported to hospital in Winnipeg and are in stable, but serious, condition according to a Manitoba RCMP spokesperson.

Alcohol is not considered to have been a factor in the collision.

No names are being released at this time.
