The national MS WALK is the MS Society's largest pledge-based fundraising event with over 70,000 participants and volunteers taking part in 160 locations across Canada in the spring and early fall. The walk is set for Sun., April 29 at the Gallagher Centre. To register as an individual or team call 1-800-268-7582 or online at mswalks.ca. On April 19 a Hotdog Sale will be held over the lunch hour at RE/MAX blue chip realty, 269 Hamilton Rd., (across from Walmart and Peavey Mart). All proceeds to the 2012 Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walk in Yorkton. Hotdogs have donated by Harvest Meats and the buns and condiments provided by Yorkton Co-operative Association Limited.

The Yorkton Arts Council's "Stars For Saskatchewan" presents Inti-Illimani, Frid., April 27, 2012, 8 p.m. at the Anne Portnuff Theatre. This Chilean group is entrenched in traditional Latin American roots and plays more than 30 wind, string and percussion instruments. Inti-Illimani's compositions are a treasure for the human Spirit.

The Yorkton Community Adult Band under the direction of Larry Pearen will be presenting A Jazz Nite, April 21 (Saturday) at the Army Navy Airforce Club from 8 to 10 p.m. Vocals will be performed by Jackie Washenfelder and Rob Zerr. The Yorkton Film Festival is now looking for volunteers for the upcoming 2012 festival season. Celebrating 65 years of film, the festival owes much of its history to its incredible volunteers. Each year we are looking for dedicated and friendly individuals to help with the tasks of driving shuttle vans; assisting with the mini-cinema and screenings; working at our social events, including LobsterFest and the GSA Gala; and taking part in the setup and teardown of the festival. Yorkton Relay for Life 2012 at Century Field, June 22 - 7:00 p.m. to June 23 - 7:00 a.m. This unique and inspiring event involves teams of 12 to 15 who participate in a 12-hour, overnight non-competitive relay. We are looking for people who would like to join the committee and help plan this year's relay, people who would like to volunteer the day (and / or night) of relay as well as business sponsors, teams, participants and survivors who would like to join us in this year's Relay for Life.
