A 24-year-old Yorkton man accused of breaking and entering to commit assault December 27 has been released on $500 bail.
Police allege that in the early hours of December 27, Brennan Lee Haas broke into a Yorkton home with a conducted energy weapon (Taser), a prohibited device in Canada. Officers arrested him at the scene. Nobody was hurt in the incident, a press release stated.
Haas was remanded by a justice of the peace after his arrest and appeared in court December 29. The Crown consented to his release on a number of conditions.
In addition to keeping the peace and being of good behaviour, he is required to: live at an approved address, keep a curfew from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m., present himself to police as required, have no contact with his alleged victims, abstain from alcohol and drugs, provide breath/blood samples if requested and not possess weapons of any kind.
The case is adjourned until January 26 for a plea.
