A drug operation by Melville RCMP, Ituna RCMP, South East Regional Traffic Services and RCMP Police Dog Services has resulted in four arrests including a 32-year-old man from Yorkton.
Police stopped Tyson Blahey of Yorkton on the evening of August 13. A subsequent search of his vehicle yielded approximately half a pound of marijuana and $1,100.
Blahey is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking under three kilograms, possession of cannabis over 30 grams, obstruction of police and driving while suspended.
Later in the evening and early in the morning of August 14, members from the two detachments executed a warrant on a Melville residence and associated vehicles where they seized a total of 17 and-a-half pounds of pot, and $27,000. One of the vehicles was also confiscated as proceeds of crime.
Damien Eastman, 33, and Lisa Robinson, 39, of Melville were taken into custody on charges of possession for the purposes of trafficking under three kilograms and possession of cannabis over 30 grams. Robinson was released on a promise to appear in Melville court on September 23.
Scott Richmond, 39, of Invermere, BC was also arrested on possession for the purpose of trafficking over three kilograms and possession of cannabis over 30 grams.
The three men appeared in Melville Court August 19 and were released on conditions.
Further charges may be pending upon consultation with the Crown, a release stated.
