The Yorkton Film Festival and the Yorkton Public Library are jointly sponsoring The Real Film Club with Elwyn Vermette, Wed., Feb. 27 at 7:00 at the library. We will view Norm, a film that won the Golden Sheaf for Best of Fest in 2009. Everyone is welcome to this fun evening of film and discussion. There is no charge.

The Brayden Ottenbreit Memorial Book Fund, generously supported and annually funded by the Kinsmen Club of Yorkton, is currently accepting applications for the provision of books or other items to any school, group or organization in the Yorkton area that are in need of materials to promote and encourage literacy. Interested parties are encouraged to submit a 500-word essay to [email protected] during the month of February, stating their need and items they wish to receive through this funding.

Good Spirit Cross Country Ski Club is hosting it's 3rd annual night "Lamplighter Loppet" Sat., Feb. 16 at Good Spirit Prov. Park. The Lamplighter Loppet is a night ski and all skiers must wear a headlantern while out on the trails. Start time is 6:30 p.m. from the Good Spirit Rec Hall. All participants must register before 6:00 p.m. Refreshments and a hot meal will be provided to all, on their return to the hall. Door prizes and awards will be handed out. The Yorkton Arts Council presents their next "Stars for Saskatchewan" concert with Prairie Debut presents "Wolak and Donnelly", Tues., Feb. 19 at 8:00 p.m. in the Anne Portnuff Theatre, Yorkton Regional High School. What an amazing duo! Chris Donnelly represents a new generation of jazz pianists, dedicated to creating programs that are engaging, entertaining, and educating! Clarinetist Kornel Wolak has been highly praised for his glorious tone, precise technical control, and exciting musical imagination!
