YRHS students of the month of January

The Boston Pizza Yorkton Regional High School Grade 9 Student of the Month for January is Rena Stamatinos . Rena is a Grade 9 student at YRHS and works hard to achieve her 95.67 average.

The Boston Pizza Yorkton Regional High School Grade 9 Student of the Month for January is Rena Stamatinos.

Rena is a Grade 9 student at YRHS and works hard to achieve her 95.67 average.

In school she is involved in the band program which is travelling to Banff in March. Out of school, Rena spends most of her time doing what she loves most, dance.

She is enjoying her first year of being involved in their teacher training program at the dance studio.

She has also been fortunate enough to widen her dance education through recent performance troupe trips.

She is friendly and outgoing and is always willing to lend a helping hand. She leads by example with a smile always on her face. Congratulations Rena!

The Boston Pizza Yorkton Regional High School Grade 10 Student of the Month for January is Shawna Turner.

Shawna is a Grade 10 student currently in the AP program, taking both math and English. She likes to keep her average above 90% and achieved a 96.5 final.

She is a member of the senior girls curling team, mock trial, a long time 4-H member, a volunteer for the Parkland Therapeutic Riding Association, and an avid horseback rider. Shawna is a leader in and out of the classroom.

Her willingness to help others combined with her out-going personality makes her a very popular friend and teammate. Congratulations Shawna!

The Boston Pizza Yorkton Regional High School Grade 11 Student of the Month for January is Brandon Campbell.

Brandon excels academically, maintaining an above 90% average throughout his high school years.

He is especially strong in math, representing YRHS well in the Canadian Math Competitions in both Grade 9 and Grade 10.

This semester Brandon achieved high average of 96.83%. Brandon had a very successful cross country season earlier this year.

He played soccer on the Raider boys' soccer team, is a member of the Senior Boys curling team, competes as a long distance runner on the Track & Field team and participates in the badminton program.

Outside of school, Brandon trains 3 -4 days/week with the Legion Track Club and plays soccer with the Yorkton United Soccer Club.

The Boston Pizza Yorkton Regional High School Grade 12 Student of the Month for January is Brandyn Rodgerson.

Brandon is very involved in many of the school activities. He is an active member of the music department being involved in the jazz band, vocal jazz, and concert band.

He also accompanies the concert choirs and has travelled across North America with the school band.

Brandyn is also a successful debater travelling across Western Canada for numerous provincial and national competitions, most recently returning from the National Speech and Debate Tournament where he placed third in Interpretive Reading.

In addition, he has been a successful member of the school's mock trial and model legislature teams.

Outside of school, Brandyn has won provincials in both piano and marimba, has received the National Silver Medal for piano for the past two years, and is currently taking his Associate in piano.

He also enjoys working as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. Brandyn holds a 98.7% average and is the Grade 12 top academic student.
