Small businesses will have longer to make site improvements on new developments than large business after a unanimous decision of Yorkton Council at its regular meeting Monday.

On Feb. 8, 2010, Council passed a resolution which authorized Administration to prepare an amendment to the City's Zoning Bylaw for the timing requirement for hard-surfacing of off-street parking, explained information circulated to Council.

"The resolution provides for the completion of hard surfacing and raised. poured, concrete curbing withing three years of the issuance of a Development Permit for developments defined as Minor Site Plans, and within one-year of issuance of a Development Permit for developments defined as Major Site Plans."
