The Yorkton Regional High School held a Zumbathon for Celiac Research Friday in their gymnasium. The Zumbathon was an idea of current YRHS student Karleigh Gelowitz who was diagnosed recently with Celiac disease. It was a joint effort between the high school and local businesses that chipped in, in support of the good cause. Roby Sharpe, student services co-ordinator at the Regional said it was a huge success and early estimates suggest they raised likely over $2000 from three hours of zumbathon. He also noted that some of the participants came from Regina and Saskatoon in order to take part. It went so well they intend to do the 2nd annual event next year.
