The City of Yorkton will head to the polls this fall to select the mayor and council for the next four years.

It wasn’t exactly the big fish Sharon Fabrick of Yorkton was looking for when she went fishing Saturday, but she admits the huge carp she hooked did offer up a spirited fight before being landed.

It was a good day fishing for Ken Wosminity when a rather large northern pike took a bite of his offered bait. Wosminity landed the hungry pike June 9, at the new Togo Bridge. The big fish measured 40-inches and weighed 16.5 pounds.

It was a sunny and warm Saturday, so why not find some outdoor fun? That was exactly what brothers Paxton and Ryker Hegedus were doing as they did some swinging at Heritage Heights Park in the city.
