The week of Sept. 23-29 is Rail Safety Week in the City of Yorkton.

Yorkton City Council has declared the month of September as Big Brothers Big Sisters month. The mentoring organization has had several events planned for the month of September, including fundraising barbecues and nights.

The Paper Bag Papers are looking for talent. The local theatre group is holding auditions for its next pair of plays, and whether someone is more comfortable with comedy or drama, they’ve got a play for you.

Over 100 friends and family gathered together on Saturday, August 31st to hold a golf tournament in memory of Don Happy and to celebrate his life.

Yorkton Crossing is the host of a car show Sunday afternoon, with a wide range of vintage metal on display. Food and music are also at the event, which runs all afternoon, and anyone with a special set of wheels is invited to put them on display.

If you want to have some fun and get some food, the Yorkton Airport is the place to be, as Miccar Aerial is hosting a family barbecue.
