In mid-November, people start planning their Christmas decorations, putting together the trees, the lights and the wreaths.

The Yorkton Paper Bag Players were the host of the TheatreOne festival from Nov. 8-10. The festival featured eight one-act plays from theatre groups across the province.

On Nov. 10, the Royal Canadian Legion and local cadets lit candles to stand at the cenotaph on Darlington St. The candles stayed lit over the weekend, standing guard at the corners of the cenotaph.

Theresa Thompson went to a closet recently, dug out a box that had contained her wedding dress for years. “It was time to get rid of my dress, I’m divorced,” said Thompson. But she took a final look in the box, and it was not her dress.

Parkland Victims Services (PVS) continues to provide support for those needing help in times of crisis throughout the region.

Yorkton’s Remembrance Day ceremony took place at the Gallagher Centre on Nov. 11, with a full room remembering war veterans from Canadian history.

With a chill in the air and snow on the ground the Salvation Army is set to begin its annual Christmas fundraising campaign. The kettle kick-off will be held in conjunction with the annual Teddy Bear Toss scheduled for the Nov.

Gerry Peppler was inducted Thursday as the latest life member of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce.

November 11, 2018 marked 100 years since the end of the first World War. To mark the anniversary and remember those who died, Legion branches across Canada rang bells to commemorate the end of the war.

Parkland Mall was the host of trick or treating on Halloween, and area kids donned their best costumes to go from store to store trick or treating.
