Saskatchewan is taking steps to ensure that access to physician services continues to be a high priority, particularly in rural and remote communities.

As part of Parks Weeks in Saskatchewan a Nature Detectives program was held Wednesday at Good Spirit Provincial Park.

A barbecue was held at Yorkton Hyundai Thursday with the proceeds going to the Yorkton Regional High School soccer team.

Greg and Leone Ottenbreit were all smiles when Yorkton Hyundai dealer principal Ron Kaban presented a cheque for Brayden Ottenbreit’s Close Cuts for Cancer on Jul. 19. Kaban’s team raised over $15,000 for the organization.

The Yorkton and District Horticultural Society has been part of the city since 1906. On Monday, and the regular meeting of Yorkton Council the Society made a request that Garden Day be proclaimed as Aug. 8.

To fix a drainage issue on Whitesand Drive the City will dip into its rainy day fund. The problem area is one the City has known about, explained René Richard, Director of Engineering and Asset Management, with the City.
