Each month a male and a female student is selected as the SHHS Saint of the Month. Saint of the Month students are nominated by staff and students of SHHS.

Residential garbage fees will climb in 2014. Yorkton Council made it official at their regular meeting Monday unanimously supporting an 18 per cent increase which was originally outlined in budget discussions earlier this year.

HIV infection rates stabilize

After reaching a peak in 2009, the Saskatchewan rate of new HIV infections has been stable during the last three years. 177 new cases were reported in 2012 compared to 200 in 2009.

T-rex replica unveiled

Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Kevin Doherty recently revealed that an exact replica of Saskatchewan's own Scotty the T. rex is on display in Australia.

New game makes list

Over the years only a few miniature games have ever had just that 'wow' factor which says they should be a hit with gamers. Warmachine was the first, Malifaux another, and I must say Godslayer from Megalith Games makes the rather short list as well.

The 16th annual Santa Claus Parade was held Saturday. Warm winter weather helped draw a large crowd for the festive event. The parade kicks off the Christmas season in Yorkton and district.
