This year was another great year for the kids for the 14th annual Children's Christmas store that was held on December 20 at the Preeceville Public Library, said Linda Shewchuk, an organizer.
"We've had amazing donations coming in from our community members and businesses, along with outreach help from the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Value Village," Shewchuk said.
This year was an amazing success for our community as around 100 kids participated, she said, thanking the public library for stepping up and hosting this year.
With the help of Shewchuk's friends, including Janet Walker, Cindy MacDonald and Brandi Heskin, the 2017 year was “another fantastic success.”
When Shewchuk started the store, she and her daughters built an exceptional tradition and made so many memories for many, she said. So it was extra special to have the tradition grow with the extra help of the “little elves” including Carley Walker, Kacey Heskin and Saphira Anaka.
With the participation of Preeceville's Public Library which hosted the store and the Preeceville School, it was a community success for the children and their beliefs of giving and caring.
With the generous proceeds received, a percentage will go into the store's host this year, and the remaining proceeds will go to the Preeceville School.
Donations are welcome and appreciated all year long, she said, adding that she is currently looking for a storage space to hold donations.

Persons interested are asked to contact Shewchuk.
"Thank you to everyone who has donated to put a smile on a child's face this 2017 holiday season," she said.
