            In an email to the Times, Sheila Gilmore, executive director of VisitArran and The Arran Trust at the Tourist Information Centre at Brodick, Isle of Arran, said that information regarding the centennial was received in Scotland.

            “This article in your local paper was sent to us and we just wanted to wish everyone from Arran, Saskatchewan, a very happy centenary from their cousins in Arran, Scotland,” Gilmore said.

            Gilmore included the email for the Tourist Information Service and a website address. They are: info@visitarran.com and www.visitarran.com.

            “The Isle of Arran, Trivago’s top European Island, 2016,” said the letter. It is “Thistle Awards’ regional finalist in 2015-16.”

            The letter also says that 2016 is the Scottish Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design, and that the Arran Trust received a Green Award in 2013 and a “Green Apple” in 2014.
