A member of the staff at Duck Mountain was injured on August 1 while attempting to stop an all-terrain vehicle.

Just after 3:30 p.m. on August 1, members of Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management (SERM) were attempting to stop a side-by-side all terrain vehicle in the Duck Mountain Provincial Park, according to a release from the Kamsack RCMP.

The vehicle had a driver and one passenger, the release said. The subjects fled but were located later on a trail in the park.

Two SERM members were on foot and tried to stop the vehicle, it said. One SERM officer was struck and dragged for a short distance which resulted in minor injuries for which he was treated and released from hospital.

The other SERM officer was nearly struck but avoided injury.

The Kamsack RCMP investigated the incident which resulted in the male driver being charged with four Criminal Code driving offences and one count of assault on a peace officer.
