On 2018-07-25, Battleford RCMP received a 911 call of a male who was laying on Hwy #4, 1km south of Battleford.
RCMP arrived on scene shortly after and the investigation indicated that the male was deceased as a result of being run over by a vehicle.
The vehicle then fled the scene and was not identified at the time by police.
The subsequent investigation done by Battlefords RCMP, Battleford Provincial GIS, Forensic Ident Section, and the F Division Traffic Reconstructionalist identified a suspect.
The suspect has been identified as: August Devin Nahbexie 22 years old of the Saulteaux First Nation and he has been charged with:
Failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing death.
Fail to comply with a probation order
Fail to comply with an undertaking
Obstruction
August Nahbexie is also wanted on 9 other unrelated charges.
