On Feb. 2, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Turtleford RCMP responded to the report of a deceased male located in an open field on the Thunderchild First Nation.
Officers secured the scene and requested the Coroner and additional RCMP resources including the North Battleford Forensic Identification Services to assist with a thorough examination of the scene.
The deceased has been identified as a 29-year-old male from the Thunderchild First Nation. Next of kin have been notified. His name will not be released as criminality has not been confirmed.
An autopsy has been ordered to take place in Saskatoon in the coming days.
The investigation is ongoing.
