Body of Missing Man Found at Lake Diefenbaker

Victim had been missing for over a week

RCMP and searchers at Lake Diefenbaker have located the body of the missing adult male who had gone missing on Saturday, July 29.

Police and search-and-rescue teams scoured the area of the lake approximately 40 km southeast of Outlook after the man ended up in the water while operating a boat.  Another passenger, an adult female, attempted to rescue him but was unsuccessful.  She was uninjured.

The RCMP continued their search efforts for over a week, with assistance from Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management and Outlook Fire and Rescue.  The RCMP's Underwater Recovery Team (URT) was also used in the search.

He was found on Sunday, August 6 at approximately 5:00 pm by police, family and searchers at the lake near the area where he was last seen.  The deceased will not be identified.
