Break-In and attempted theft of ATM: Unity RCMP

On Jan. 27, the Unity RCMP responded to a report of a Break-In and attempted theft of an ATM in the Town of Macklin. RCMP advise that 3 masked subjects entered the business via forcing the front door.

On Jan. 27, the Unity RCMP responded to a report of a Break-In and attempted theft of an ATM in the Town of Macklin.  RCMP advise that 3 masked subjects entered the business via forcing the front door.

Once inside the males attempted to break into the ATM using a variety of tools that they had brought with them for this purpose.   The males were unable to break into the ATM or to steal it's contents and no money was gained by the males in this Break-In and attempted theft.

Unity RCMP used the Saskatchewan Crime Watch Advisory Network that morning to fan-out information on the vehicle involved in the crime were travelling in a newer white Dodge 2500 or 3500 Crew-cab that may contain a slip tank in the back.  It is believed the vehicle fled South of Macklin following the failed theft attempt, although it had initially left to the North.

Unity RCMP advise that the incident occurred at approximately 04:59 and the subjects were witnessed by Macklin area residents already heading to work.
