Canora Cadets enjoy airs skills day

The Canora air cadets participated in an air skills day April 8, when they built model rockets for the morning and set them off to the heavens in the afternoon, said Darren Paul, Canora air cadets’ commanding officer.

The Canora air cadets participated in an air skills day April 8, when they built model rockets for the morning and set them off to the heavens in the afternoon, said Darren Paul, Canora air cadets’ commanding officer.

            Taking part in the event were Cpl. Gracie Paul of Canora, LAC Brooke-Lynn Brass O’Soup of The Key First Nation, Cpl. Joanne Babb of Canora, LAC Jamie Katryniuk of Mikado, Cpl. Avery Hanson of Canora and Cpl. Juan Mesa Castenada of Canora.

            The winds weren't cooperating, being extremely strong and creating a difficult recovery process, Paul said. However, the cadets were very diligent and managed to recover two of the three rockets that were set off that day.

            All air cadets said it was a very fun day, this being one of the many activities that is available to them throughout the year, said Paul.
