The Canora Novice Black Cobras lost the C final in overtime to Kamsack in the home tournament on January 16-17.

In the six team tournament, the participating teams were: Yorkton Century 21 Terriers, Preeceville Pats, Kamsack Flyers, Churchbridge Imperials, Canora Red Cobras and Canora Black Cobras. Each team played three games ending in an A,B, and C final.

“The kids played great and with a lot of heart,” said Coach Jeff Sznerch. “The score in the games did not reflect the effort given by our players. I'm really proud of them. We have been working hard in practice on skill building, perfecting the fundamentals of the game and it is really starting to show on the ice.

“Many thanks to the tournament organizers and parents who helped put on such a great weekend for our players,” he said.
