The plans for Canora’s pavement restoration are no longer a ‘bumpy road’ after the town council’s passed a vote to complete the project.
The motion, which was discussed and passed during the council meeting on June 7, will be completed by Public Works, and will involve using a hot mix of asphalt to pave roads. The project is estimated to cost about $25,000, which will be paid out of the town’s street reserve.
During the meeting, council members also approved a request by Tony Ripa to cut hay, and discussed the dates for further council meetings.
The meeting was held in the Canora Town Council Chambers by those in attendance, including mayor Gina Rakochy, counsillors Syl Hrynkiw, Matthew Nehaj, Brad Gabora, Cory O’Dell, James Trofimenkoff, and Gerald Wolkowski, and Courtney Bourassa, the council’s administrative assistant.
