Charges laid in March 30 pedestrian fatality in Saskatoon

The charge is failure to stop after a collision, resulting in death.

SASKATOON — An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged after an investigation into a fatal collision with a pedestrian.

The Saskatoon Police Service Major Crime Section made the arrest April 13 and he has been charged with failure to stop after a collision, resulting in death.

On March 30, at around 9 p.m., while vehicles were stopped for a train in the 800 block of Avenue W South, an altercation occurred between a 29-year-old man and the driver of another vehicle. Police say the 29-year-old man approached the vehicle, being driven by an 18-year-old man, and was struck by it. The collision resulted in fatal injuries to the 29-year-old man.

SPS says the two were known to each other before the incident.
