Two long-time City of Yorkton employees will receive Meritorious Service Awards at the 2018 Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association Awards Banquet.
“In previous years, the City has endeavoured to recognize employees who have in excess of 20 years of service with the City of Yorkton,” explained Gord Kennedy, Director of Human Resources with the City at the regular meeting of Council on Monday.
“Traditionally Council has approved up to four employees to attend the SUMA Banquet and in 2018 there are two employees, whom have confirmed they wish to attend. We have other employees who have completed the necessary years of service but have respectfully declined the offer to attend.”
Kennedy said the two employees are deserving of recognition.
“Gary Kowalyshen has over 23 years of service with the City of Yorkton. He began his career with the City in 1994 as a Seasonal Labourer and is currently a journeyman within the Fleet Operations department,” he said.
“Angie Zuravloff has over 20 years of service with the City of Yorkton, beginning her career as a cashier. She is currently a utility billing clerk in the Finance Department.
“We feel that it is appropriate to recognize these employees.”
