Changes in the medical services committee and a donation for the nursing home gazebo project were among items to concern town council at its regular meeting on February 13.

Council approved a donation of $1,000 to the Kamsack and District Nursing Home for its gazebo project.

Because the amalgamation of the medical services committee and the Assiniboine Health and Wellness Foundation has proven to be an effective and efficient approach to managing the responsibilities outline in the terms of reference for the medical services committee, it was decided it should continue.

Responsibility for doctor recruitment and retention be transferred to the Foundation and its budget of $25,000 also be transferred as a grant specifically for doctor recruitment and retention. This arrangement is to be reviewed annually.

It was decided to change the pricing structure for commercial property owned by the Town to $200 per frontage foot and the reduction rate for the purchase of adjacent commercial lots was cancelled as was the partial purchase price refund for construction.
