The 75th Anniversary of D-Day, with the Allies taking Juno Beach, was commemorated by a march to the cemetary, with the ashes of poppies spread on the graves of the veterans at the cemetery.
The march commenced at 1800 hours through the streets, culminating in the arrival of the final resting place of those that paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our freedom.
Comrade Jason Copin led the march, escorted by a Yorkton Community Safety Officer aided by the RCMP, with a full pipe and drums band.
Constable A. Howe, of the Carlyle Detachment RCMP, marched in the traditional Red Serge.
