Update: Alert cancelled for Langham, deceased ID unconfirmed

LANGHAM — Update: RCMP say a male was located by RCMP police officers deceased inside a residence in Langham around 11:40 a.m. The residence was on fire earlier in the day. It’s believed the deceased person is Justin Heimbecker, but this cannot be confirmed at this time.

RCMP Major Crimes is in the early stages of this investigation and RCMP say they cannot provide further details at this time.

Update: RCMP have cancelled the Dangerous Person Alert issued in Langham. Police believe there is no further risk to public safety. Directions to shelter in place are cancelled.

RCMP say they will provide further information as it becomes available. The investigation remains ongoing.

Update: One person is deceased say RCMP of a shooting incident this morning in Langham. The suspect is identified as Justin Heimbecker.

Suspect is described as six foot three with brown eyes. He was last seen on foot and is believed to be armed.

It is unknown where Justin Heimbecker is at this time or whether he has access to a vehicle.

RCMP are responding. More information to come.
