RCMP says outage isn't affecting its communication centre

Officers continue to respond to calls for service.

RCMP say that if you are trying to call for police assistance and your call fails, please try again or make the call from a landline or a cell phone from another provider.

SASKATCHEWAN — Saskatchewan RCMP say they are aware of a network outage affecting some cellular phone users in Canada, however Division Operational Communication Centre is unaffected and officers continue to respond to calls for service.

RCMP say that if you are trying to call for police assistance and your call fails, please try again or make the call from a landline or a cell phone from another provider.

Saskatchewan RCMP is currently investigating an incident in Langham and has issued an emergency alert.

A release states, “We are aware of the cellular outage and continue, as per our communications protocols, to issue updates and instructions through numerous channels, including emergency alerts (with the alert and subsequent updates being broadcasted to radio and television, cellular devices and the SaskAlert app and website), Saskatchewan RCMP media releases, public website and social media posts. We thank our news partners for also sharing this information with the public. We ask that residents in the affected area continue to follow police direction as provided.”
