The Filipino community welcomed guests from across the local area to join them in a special celebration recognizing the Filipino traditions. The festival featured a feast at Annie Laurie Lake on August 13.
“We have invited our Filipino community members from Invermay, Okla, Kelvington and Wynard to join us in this special day,” said Filipina Pinaroc. “We had expected 200 guests to join in the fun games and huge pig roast meal.
“The celebration featured volleyball games, raffles, kids games and bingo,” she said. “We also invited the public to join us in the celebration. It was a fun day.”
