Princess’ Knight is a historical romance novel set in the medieval era that follows the blossoming love of two characters that face numerous challenges throughout the book. Rhonda Leibel of Usherville attempted to capture this evolving story in her first book.
“This is my first book,” she said. “I have always enjoyed writing and find it very therapeutic. I have researched my family history back to the 1700’s and often wished that I could have lived in that era. After seeing firsthand how they coped with their hardships in Bukovina, Austria, if I were able to time travel, my first choice would be to meet them and write about their encounters.
In her new book, the character Elisa Fahrtost strongly believes in fairly tales of love and romance and dreamed of her “happily ever after with her gallant knight.” Finding herself alone, afraid and running from the only family she had, she found a path that would link her to a chain of memories beyond her wildest dreams.
Thaddeus Morissent dismissed the musings of others, and was content to remain a free spirit. After seeing the infidelity, he would not love anyone for his own because they were trouble. He hardened his heart and swore he would never be chained to only one.
“As a teenager I adored Johanna Lindsey as a creative author. I have collected all 52 of her books and over the course of the years have re-read them. Through her work, I was encouraged to write my own book. It took me three months to write and named the book with the focus on fantasy. I loved writing my own book, putting down my ideas that seemed to flow onto the paper very easily.”
“Writing is my way of escaping from the hard reality of the real world and is dedicated to the loved ones lost. Since having my first book published, I have completed my second book and am currently writing the third book with ideas for the fourth book already planned. The fourth book will be linked to the first novel but all will be a historical romance based,” said Leibel.
Leibel grew up on a farm in Zehner, North of Regina. She worked at numerous jobs in the area. She and her husband moved to the Usherville area in 2004 where they raised their family and she took on writing to escape the real world.
