Former resident to open new travel agency in Swan River

A former resident of Kamsack and the Pelly district has begun a business designed to help area residents make their travel arrangements.

A former resident of Kamsack and the Pelly district has begun a business designed to help area residents make their travel arrangements.

Tricia Lozinsky of Swan River and Pelly is opening Route 83 Travel at 141 Fourth Avenue South in Swan River on July 27.

“We are a full service travel agency serving Manitoba and Saskatchewan,” Lozinsky said last week during a visit to Kamsack. “We offer peace of mind travel planning and bookings, travel insurance, luggage and a variety of travel accessories.

“Whether it is an all-inclusive vacation somewhere hot, an airline ticket, rental car, hotel accommodations, a cruise, rail trip or theme park tickets for that family vacation; you name it, we have you covered,” Lozinsky said. “Let us help you get the information you need to narrow down all those options and take the worry out of planning.

“All you have to do is pack your bags and enjoy your trip of a lifetime.”

Born in Canora and raised on a family farm 14 miles north of Pelly, Tricia is the daughter of Wally and Vikki Lozinsky. She attended elementary and high school in Pelly and then worked in a variety of jobs in the agriculture community, including work for custom harvesters, highway construction, sign graphics, agriculture parts person and as a courier driver, just to name a few, before getting into the travel industry about three years ago.

“I have had lots of on the job training, and have travelled in North America extensively,” she said, listing as among her many destinations many parts of the United States including Florida, Arizona, Las Vegas and Nashville, Tenn.

“I’m a Disney destination specialist and a graduate of the Disney College of Knowledge Program as well as a graduate of the Orlando Travel Academy which focuses a lot on all family attractions in the area as well as everything wonderful Florida has to offer,” she said, adding that she has visited Disney World in Florida in a total of 18 times.

As a nod to the district’s music lovers, she said that she has visited Nashville on several occasions and while there has had the pleasure of touring backstage at Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and enjoyed other sites such as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Studio B, where many famous stars have recorded, including Elvis.

“I am also credited as being a specialist at other destinations,” she said, explaining that among the many destinations for which she is familiar are the Bahamas and has had the pleasure of going on Caribbean cruises.

“Cruising as become a passion of mine.”

In this part of Canada all-inclusive winter holidays are popular to such destinations as the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico and the Bahamas.

“Of course, everyone loves Hawaii.”

A great thing about receiving the services of a travel agent is that one does not pay the agent, she said. Not only are travel and accommodations received through an agent the same price as one might receive when making one’s own arrangements via the Internet or phone, often it costs less to go through an agent because an agent can often obtain lower rates because of bulk purchases.

Also, if one has any trouble on a holiday, one often receives better help if the vacation package was purchased through an agent, she said. And, of course, agents do extensive research on destinations and are equipped to help design a trip to meet each client’s particular needs or wishes. Lozinsky encourages Kamsack and Pelly district residents to contact her via e-mail at info@route83travel. com, or by phone. She has a Saskatchewan phone number as well as a Manitoba number.

“Still helping out at my parents’ farm, I find that I’m making many trips to Pelly and I pass through Kamsack often and am willing to drop off information or make arrangements for information to be delivered,” she said. “Please be sure to Like us on Facebook.”

She encourages persons in the area to feel free to visit the office to browse over her large selection of travel brochures and information packages as well as discus potential destinations.

Because Lozinsky is also a certified nail technician, she says that the spare time not spent researching vacations for her clients, she will be available to do manicures from space adjoining the travel office in Swan River.

“I do both, gel and the more durable acrylic nails,” she said. “Customers planning a trip may want a little extra in preparation, so often some of those clients may like to take the time to enjoy a new manicure just before leaving home.”
