Gateway Co-op has rewarded the winners at each of its locations in the Equity Days Shopping Spree. Lydia Holter of Canora won 820.61 worth of groceries at the Canora location, while Millie Zieler was the winner at the Buchanan Gateway Co-op, and took home a grand total of 2,030.03.
In addition to the shopping spree, each winner received a $50 gift card.
Jason Babiuk, food manager, said each winner had two minutes to fill their shopping carts, followed by a staff member giving them updates on the time left on the counter.
“What an exciting time for these winners to be part of a celebration during Equity Days,” said Babiuk. “Giving back to the community is what we are all about and we just thought, ‘What could we do to create more excitement within the community?’ Well how about a shopping spree to say thanks to everyone for being a part of another successful year at Gateway Co-op. As a local co-operative and community builder, we value our membership and customer base by generating equity and patronage by means of providing our customers with quality products and services in a sustainable manner.”
