Hazel Dell council makes 2017 appointments

The Rural Municipality of Hazel Dell made its committee and board appointments for 2017 at the January 18 meeting of council.

The reeve, the division councillor affected and one other councillor plus a grader operator for the division, if necessary, are to be appointed to the road committee, according to Christina Sorgen, assistant administrator.

Appointed as fire rangers for the area north of most southerly four miles of municipality to the north, east and west boundaries was Greg Smith, fire chief of the Lintlaw Fire Department (or active fire chief). Appointed to the area within the most southerly four miles of the municipality was Mark Eskra, fire chief of the Invermay Fire Department (or active fire chief).

Darrell Cunningham was appointed as the District No.42 agriculture development and diversification board representative.

Sheri Kosar, administrator, was appointed to the stray animals act committee.

Bert Hunt was appointed as pest control officer.

Randall Harriman, reeve, was appointed to the Hudson Bay Route Association, the Emergency Measurers Organization and to the Lintlaw and district firefighting association.

Don Holowachuk, Div. 1 councillor, was appointed to the following boards and committees: doctor incentive, Lintlaw and district firefighting association and to the Parkland Regional Waste Management Authority.

David Ken Spray, Div. 2 councillor, was appointed to the Kelvington veterinary board and the doctor incentive committee.

Colin Redman, Div. 3 councillor, was appointed to the Assiniboine Watershed Stewardship Association.

Keith Galbraith, Div. 4 councillor, was appointed to the Kelvington veterinary board, the Norquay veterinary board and to the stray animal’s act committee.

Bruce Gibb Jr., Div. 6 councillor, was appointed to the Lintlaw and district firefighting association with alternates Jerry Klassen and Bruce Gibb Sr.

Ralph Engdahl was appointed to the North East Area Transportation Planning committee and the district board of revision.

Brenda Johannesson was appointed to the Kelsey Trail Health Region board, the Kelvington Trust committee and the formal steering committee for the Kelvington long-term care construction committee.

Donna Cunningham was appointed to the R.M. of Hazel Dell recreation board.

Marie Engdahl, was appointed to the Parkland Regional Library board.

Rachel Gibb was appointed to the Parkland Regional Library Kelvington board and to the Parkland Regional Library board.

Bob Selby was appointed to the district board of revision.

Appointed as water caretakers were: Ken Radawetz of the Hamlet of Okla, and George Dawe and Donna Radawetz for the Hamlet of Hazel Dell.       

Tom Babchishin was appointed to Agriculture Producers Association of Saskatachewan (APAS).
