A woman who had been walking on highway No. 8 just north of Cote First Nation, was struck and killed last week.
At approximately 9:20 p.m. on August 23, Kamsack RCMP received a complaint of a pedestrian/motor vehicle collision on the highway.
Kamsack RCMP, fire department and EMS personnel attended, said a release from the RCMP. Initial investigation has revealed the 44-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a north bound SUV, and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle was not physically injured and remained on scene for police to arrive, the release said.
An RCMP collision analyst has processed the scene, and the investigation is still ongoing, it said. Charges were not being considered when the press release was issued.
