The Preeceville and District Ministerial Association sponsored the Holy Week noon hour paper bagged lunch services which began from April 10 to April 13. There were a total of four services held at the Preeceville Trinity United Church.

The four clergy participants who gave sermons at different dates were: Pastor Rob Lagrove of the Evangel Tabernacle Church; Brad Steppan, Endeavour Fellowship Chapel; Barb Forsythe of the Anglican Church, and Hein Bertram of the St. John Lutheran Church.

Each minister reflected on different topics that follow the theme: “There is no fear in love but perfect love drives out fear,” from I John 4:18.

The featured topics included: Jesus's fear, disciples’ fears; the fears of the officials around the suffering of Christ; the fears of church leaders of the past, even the fears of modern-day pilots and soldiers.

Holy Week in Christianity is the last week of Lent and the week before Easter. It includes the religious holidays of Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) and Good Friday and lasts from Palm Sunday until, but not including, Easter Sunday as Easter Sunday is the first day of the new season of the Great 50 Days. It commemorates the last week of the earthly life of Jesus Christ, culminating in his crucifixion on Good Friday and his resurrection on Easter Sunday.
