On August 15, 2019 at about 11:45 am, Indian Head RCMP members conducted a traffic stop on the Trans Canada Highway near Indian Head, SK.
Calls about this vehicle's driving behaviour were received including one call that involved a minor collision between this car and another vehicle. Subsequent investigation resulted in the male driver and female passenger being arrested.
Police located numerous illegal items inside the vehicle and some of the items included the following:
- Numerous fake identity documents
- Numerous fraudulent financial and bank cards
- Identity documents belonging to people that were not in the vehicle
- Electronic equipment that could be used to intercept signals
- Counterfeit document making equipment
- Tax, cheques and other government documents in relation to the fake identity documents
- Illicit drugs suspected as being methemphetamine.
Shawn Anderson, 29 years old and Stephanie Maisey, 33 years old, of North Bay, Ontario have been charged with the following:
- Dangerous driving. Sec. 249(1) CC
- Possess false identity documents. Sec. 56.1 CC
- Possess instrument for use to create counterfeit tokens of value. Sec. 458(d) CC
- Possess stolen property. Sec. 354(1)(a) CC
- Possess schedule 1 substance. Sec. 4 CDSA
- Breach of Recognizance. Sec. 145(3) CC
They are being held in custody and will appear in Provincial Court in Fort Quappelle on August 19. Police continue to investigate.
