YORKTON - How do you make a T-rag rug?

Well a number of people learned that secret as a workshop was held Wednesday eve at the office of Culture Days Yorkton in the Parkland Mall.

An online definition of the rugs states they are a hand-woven or machine-woven rug made with a heavy cotton warp and a filling of rags torn into strips whose ends are tied or sewed together.

Overall, Culture Days Yorkton will be offering 45 events that have been organized by more than 30 local artists and arts and culture organizations. The events will be held at various venues around the community starting Sept. 22, and running through until Oct. 15.

“Culture Days is a national celebration of arts and culture. At the end of each September, millions of people attend thousands of free participatory arts and culture events across the country both in-person and online. Culture Days programs invite the public to get hands-on and behind-the-scenes to highlight the importance of arts and culture in our communities,” details culturedays.ca
