The entertainment is always top notch when local musicians entertain members and guests at the PALS jam session and Friday night supper.
Elaine Swiderski was the 50/50 winner on October 21 at the PALS building on Front Street.
Eugene Tretiak and Russ Baldwin, guitar players and country singers, once again provided the afternoon entertainment on October 25 for the residents of the Invermay Health Centre and Gateway Lodge.
Invermay School grades 8 and 9 PAA (Practical Applied Arts) students, led by teacher Nathan Hrynchyshyn, teamed up with the experienced senior ladies on October 25 at the Rama Recreation Centre to make perogies. The women shared their knowledge and skills and enlightened the students to the history and the joy of eating the Ukrainian dish.
The purpose of the program is to have a deeper understanding of the Polish Ukrainian food culture and to preserve the culture for future generations. The students experienced the complete process of making perogies, from peeling potatoes and onions, preparing, rolling, cutting, pinching and cooking dough; and of course the pure bliss of eating perogies! When this busy day came to a close, a well-deserved dessert of raspberries and ice cream was served
Mom won’t have to cook because fall supper and perogy supper season is upon us once again. Check the local bulletins around town for places and dates. Put on your stretch pants!
Kaiser or Troika is a card game that I have been playing most of my life. At the Rama Golden Jets Centre, a group gathers every Tuesday evening to hold a Kaiser tournament.
Winners on October 25 were Lisa Pasloski and Shirley Kushneruk, first place; Walter Karmazinuk and Nick Woloschuk, second place; and Florence Bilan and Raymond Dyky, third place.
