Junior badminton tournament co-hosted by Preeceville and Sturgis

A junior badminton tournament, co-hosted by Preeceville and Sturgis schools involved eight teams from across the region to participate on April 7.

            A junior badminton tournament, co-hosted by Preeceville and Sturgis schools involved eight teams from across the region to participate on April 7.

            Teams entered in the tournament on April 7 were from: Norquay, Keesekoose, Invermay, Kamsack, Sacred Heart in Yorkton, Yorkton Regional, Preeceville and Sturgis.

            Preeceville School hosted the boys and girls singles and mixed doubles games. In the boys categories; Skylar Wallin of Invermay won first over Seth Rayner of Sturgis in singles; and Kelsey Daschuk of Preeceville defeated Ellyshia Enge of Invermay in the girls category.

In the mixed doubles, Tristen Maier and Mikayla Babichuk of Invermay defeated of Noel Whitehawk and Brooke Schwartz Kamsack to win first place.

 The Sturgis Composite High School hosted boys and girls doubles games. In the boys doubles category, Peyton Shewchuk and Gavin Serhan of Invermay defeated Ethan Innes and Knute Vallevand of Sturgis to win first place. In the girls doubles category, AJ Juaneza and Natasha Faye and Invermay defeated Kacie Meroniuk and Shanae Olson of Sturgis to win first.
