Junior KCI students recognized at Spectacular Spartans awards program

Students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute who excelled during the 2014-15 term were recognized at the school’s Junior Spectacular Spartans awards evening on June 17.

Students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 at the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute who excelled during the 2014-15 term were recognized at the school’s Junior Spectacular Spartans awards evening on
June 17.

With Sadie McGriskin and Savannah Zielinski as emcees, the program began with the Grade 6B class singing O Canada and words of welcome from Tracy Forsythe, principal.

Forsythe and Ryan  Gareau, vice-principal, presented the students on the honour rolls in each grade, while Darran Teneycke, a superintendent of schools for the Good Spirit School Division
presented the awards for the highest academic averages in each grade. The awards were sponsored by the GSSD and the KCI student representative council and assisting Teneycke make the presentations were Michelle Guillet and Darren Kitsch.

Grade 5 students with averages of 70 per cent and above are: Olivia Bos, Holden LaBelle, Karen Luu, Megan Raffard, Phoenix Papequash, Vanderlae Papequash, Aniyah Pearson,
Leah-Jen Shingoose, Tynika Strongeagle and Tara Taylor.

Those with averages of at least 80 per cent are: Kate Erhardt, Riley Harlow, Jem Ketchemonia, Toby Lynx, Eric Moriarty, Odinaka Ogali, Jordyn Thomas and Rylee Zbeetnoff.

Ilyana Carpenter-Bloudoff had an average of more than 90 per cent.

The awards for the highest academic averages in Grade 5 went to Ilyana Carpenter- Bloudoff of 5A and Kate Erhardt and Rylee Zbeetnoff in 5B.

For the Grade 6 honour roll, Julianna Nichol and Greg Thomas helped make the presentations. Grade 6 students with averages of at least 70 percent are: Rhianna Bresky,
Raine Campeau, Derek Cote, Charlotte Henderson, Ethan Ironstand-Cote, Lakota Laughren, Ann Mitchell, Michael Tourangeau and Serenity Ward.

Students with averages of at least 80 per cent are: Gage Berezowski, Nicholas Bielecki, Connor Bodnaryk, Aiden Broda, Laquetta Buchan, Zerlina Buchan, Zachary Chernoff, Chloe Koroluk,
Scarlette Quewezance, Anastasia Schwartz and Aura Whitehawk. Curtis McGriskin and Makayla Romaniuk had averages of 90 per cent or above.

The awards for highest academic averages in Grade 6 went to: Makayla Romaniuk in Grade 6A and Curtis McGriskin in Grade 6B. Tyler Lorenzo and Melinda Butler helped present
the Grade 7 honour roll. Grade 7 students with averages of 70 per cent and above are: Ryan Bear, Teyon Cote, Charles Spence-Gaines, Jordan Green, Jade Langan, Brooke Schwartz and Erin Wise.

Students with averages of at least 80 per cent are: Josh Bielecki, Samantha Chernoff, Liam Lachambre, Jude Langan, Breanne McLean, Whyatt Schneider and Kate Wishnevetski.

Those with averages of at least 90 per cent are: Maison Davis, Ysabel Morenos, Chase Szegi, Zachary Zbeetnoff and Savannah Zielinski. Students with averages of at least 95 per cent are: Mila Carpenter-Bloudoff, Shaelyn David and Sadie McGriskin. The Grade 7 students with the highest academic averages are: Sadie McGriskin, 7A and Savannah Zielinski, 7B. Ryan Lambert helped
present the honour roll for Grade 8.

Grade 8 students with averages of 70 per cent and above are: Lauryn Dustyhorn- Cote, Peytin Keshane and Selena Lynx.

Students with averages of at least 80 per cent are: Steven Guillet, Cade HenryMartino, Emma Keshane, Annika Lachambre, Samantha Quewezance, Keanna Romaniuk, Tanisha Severight
and Venetia Shingoose.

Those who had averages of at least 90 per cent are: Joshua Bos, Hannah Pennell, Jacob Philipchuk, Kailey Sterzer and Koryssa Woloshyn. Julianna Raabel had an average of 95 per cent or more.
 

The Grade 8 awards for highest academic averages went to: Julianna Raabel in 8A and Jakob Philipchuk, 8B. Kristen Doyle presented the art awards, sponsored by the SRC, to: Jordyn Thomas and Jem Ketchemonia in Grade 5; Makayla Romaniuk and Rhianna Bresky, Grade 6; Sadie McGriskin and Angelina Badger-Cote, Grade 7, and Julianna Raabel and Jake Philipchuk, Grade 8.

Perfect attendance awards, sponsored by the SRC, were presented by Ryan Gareau to Nicholas Bielecki and Elizabeth Spence-Gaines. Glenda Tulloch and Joanne Schwartz presented
the Spartan Spirit awards, which were sponsored by the SRC, to: Jordyn Thomas, Grade 5; Makayla Romaniuk and Anastasia Schwartz, Grade 6; Sadie McGriskin, Grade 7, and Julianna Raabel, Grade 8.

Ryan Stanko presented the sportsman awards, sponsored by the SRC, to Terrain Cote and Kyler Allen, Grade 5; Chloe Koroluk and Zerlina Buchan, Grade 6; Chase Szegi and Teyon Cote, Grade 7, and Joshua Bos and Noel Whitehawk, Grade 8. The Carpe Diem awards were presented by Tracey Fedorchuk.

The Grade 5 awards, sponsored by the SRC, went to Karen Luu and Elizabeth Spence-Gaines. The Grade 6 awards, which were sponsored by the SRC and Affinity Credit Union, were
presented by Fedorchuk and Kerri Woloshyn to Laqueta Buchan and Gage Berezowski.

The Grade 7 awards, sponsored by the SRC and the Kamsack Royal Purple Elks were presented by Ardis Irvine and Fay Bennett to Mila Carpenter-Bloudoff and Breanne McLean. The Grade
8 awards, sponsored by the SRC and the Kamsack Elks Royal Purple, were presented by Irvine and Bennett to Keanna Romaniuk and Tanisha Severight.

Claire Bishop presented the citizenship awards to Riley Harlow and Kate Erhardt of Grade 5 and Anastasia Schwartz and Aura Whitehawk in Grade 6. The Grade 7 awards, sponsored by the Kamsack branch of Yorkton Co-operative Association, went to Shaelyn David and Ysabel Morenos, while the Grade 8 awards, sponsored by Duck Mountain Ambulance Care, went to Joshua
Bos and Hannah Pennell.
