The provincial president of the Saskatchewan Elks and Royal Purple Elks visited the Kamsack Royal Purple Elks Lodge on November 10.

Attending the Kamsack group’s meeting were Barry Off, the president, and Craig Nielson, the district deputy for District No. 6. Both are of Esterhazy.

Off spoke about the 2015 convention and the changes that will be coming, said Eva Moskal, a member of the Kamsack Lodge. He provided tips on fundraising and promoting membership into the organization.

The president’s theme for the year is “Moving Forward with Purpose,” Moskal said. “He said that he believes we are ready to move forward and show people in our communities what we do so they will want to join and be a part of our achievements.

“He said we need to advertise our projects and show where in the community our charity is going,” Moskal said. “He also said that we are a Canadian volunteer organization of men and women serving communities and we can congratulate ourselves and get the word out to the public of what we do and accomplish in order to be the best volunteer organization in Canadian communities.”

Nielson spoke about the sessions and the operation of the Elks and then a short question period followed.

The visitors said they were pleased with the projects that the Kamsack Lodge has undertaken, she said.

After a luncheon, Off presented each member of the Kamsack Lodge with his provincial pin and a lovely pen as tokens of his visit.
