Kamsack team penning event said one of the best

More than $3,000 was paid out to participants at the 11 th annual team penning event held at the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack on Saturday.

            More than $3,000 was paid out to participants at the 11th annual team penning event held at the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack on Saturday.

            “We had 52 teams comprised of 27 riders,” said Gerry Peesker, president of the Kamsack Team Penners, which had hosted the event.

            The riders were impressed with the payout, he said. Many have said that the Kamsack event is one of the best team penning events they attend.

            Participants came from Benito, Ethelbert and Dauphin in Manitoba, Estevan, Esterhazy and Kamsack and from Fort McMurray, Alta.

            The team with the fastest time was a team comprise of: Fran Fitzpatrick, Kevin Boese and Judy Anderson with a time of 22.14 seconds.

            The teams, placing first to 10th on the A side respectively, with their times, are: first, Trevor Nicholauson, Brian Hunter Don Wyatt, one minute, 05.85 seconds; second, Linette Lanski, Gaylene Wyatt and Jodi Suchoplas, one minute, 06.39 seconds; third, Kimberly Parks, Trevor Nicholauson and Linette Lanski, 1 minute, 17.42 seconds; fourth, Carmi Hrabarchuk, Don Wyatt and Janie Galloway, one minute 22.13 seconds; fifth, Trevor Nicholauson, Glen Foster and Brian Hunter, one minute, 23.51 seconds; sixth, Kimberly Parks, Erin Schullman and Carol Leposa, one minute, 26.04 seconds; seventh, Erin Schullman, Stan Foster and Carmi Hrabarchuk, one minute, 26.94 seconds; eighth, Marsha Dudar, Gerry Peesker and Kim Kindiak, one minute, 27.54 seconds; ninth, Jessie Foster, Andy Suchoplas and Jodi Suchoplas, one minute, 29.37 seconds, and 10th, Carmi Hrabarchuk, Andy Suchoplas and Kim Kindiak, one minute, 29.71 seconds.

            On the B side, placing first, with the best time in one run, was the team of Judy Anderson, Kevin Boese and Fran Fitzpatrick with a time of 22.14 seconds. In second place was the team of Fran Fitzpatrick, Stan Foster and Kim Kindiak with the time of 30.53 seconds.

            The youth team was comprised of Kreece Hrabarchuk, Kaisley Hrabarchuk and Ryder Helmeczi.
