The Kamsack Comprehensive Institute SADD (Students Against Drinking and Driving) group raised money for its projects at a slo-pitch tournament on June 5.
The Kamsack Royals senior slo-pitch team matched forces with three other teams of from 12 to 15 players each who were comprised of students and community members, said Kaylie Bowes, SADD president. Each team played two games and the senior Royals were declared the winners.
The event included a barbecue and Duck Mountain Ambulance Care committed to matching the proceeds of the barbecue, Bowes said. The Royals donated $200 to SADD, and each person playing ball on the three teams of students and community members paid $2.
The funds raised will go towards paying for two more highway signs at the north and south entrances to the community, which are identical to the two signs that have already been placed at the east and west entrances to Kamsack.
