Yorkton Council unanimously declared Kin Week in the city at its regular meeting Monday.

Between the “Kinsmen club and the Yorkton Kinettes we have done much work in the community, including contributing to projects like the New Trades and Technology Centre in town, the Health Foundation, Weinmaster Park accessible play equipment, as well as numerous other charitable projects,” detailed a letter from Kinsmen Club of Yorkton president Michael Thompson circulated Monday.

“Our Motto is ‘Serving the Communities Greatest Needs’, and we have been helping make Yorkton a better place for over 65 years,” Thompson told Council.

Of course our major initiative is upcoming with the 40th annual Telemiracle telethon set for March 5 and 6.

“We plan on hosting a number of Telemiracle fundraising projects up to the date of the show,” said Thompson.

The local Kinsmen and Kinette clubs are hoping to raise $40,000 for this year’s Telemiracle.
